Reign in the New Year in Style

It’s a mere 12 hours until 2013, give or take an hour, and this occasion calls for a stunner of an outfit. We’re thinking a sleek white menswear look with black and gold accessories is just right for the big night. Polished yet glamorous.

Leather and Velvet for the Holidays? Yes, please.

With all the holiday obligations this time of year, there definitely is an increased motivation to dress chicly yet effortlessly. It’s also a time when many hugs and kisses will be given and received, so we’re thinking why not make that festive ensemble just as nice to touch as it is to see?

Nothing is more touchable than velvet and when combined with a smoothly sleek leather piece like this red poplin top from Alice & Olivia, the holiday season really begins to get interesting! Paired with the Velveteen Charmer in Black and the English Romance Coat with a velvet collar, this whole look becomes irresistible to the touch.

To complete the look, we’re thinking a sultry smokey eye with a simple nude lip. Then, glam up the accessories with pops of gold in the boots, clutch, and cocktail ring. In a look like this, you’ll feel happy, festive, and perhaps maybe even a little bit naughty.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Tis the Season to Glam It Up – Holiday Style

OH the holidays. It can definitely be a hectic time of year but it’s also one of the most enjoyable because you’re seeing all of your family and friends more than usual, not to mention getting the chance to dress for the occasion!

For that upcoming holiday party you have on your calendar, we’re thinking you should go – Short Beaded Dress. Sky High Heels. Old Hollywood Glam Fur Coat…Faux, naturally.

Holiday Glam

This Urban Lux Faux Fur Coat is an absolute must “gift to yourself” item this season. It’s a classic piece that you’ll go back to time and again for special occasions as well as to dress up skinny jeans and a cute top. Tonight, we threw it over the Speakeasy Dress. This fun little party dress is perfect for enjoying the night away, especially when you accessorize with the amazingness that is Brian Atwood heels and Bottega Veneta knot clutch in violet for a splash of color. Lastly, for a little warmth and to keep the look polished, we went for opaque tights from DVF.

Now for the little details, we went with an edgy spiked bracelet and simple yet outstanding black diamond stud earrings. Then for make-up, we’d definitely go for the sultry smoky eye and just a sweet soft pink lip, so that the eyes can truly shine.

Winter White Daydreaming…

Just like wearing all black, dressing in all white gives off an air of mystery all it’s own. It’s chic, yet cozy. Approachable but still a little nerve racking. With a shimmery glow on the eye lids and a pop of color on the lips, we’re absolutely lusting after this angelic look.

Red…Red…Wine.

Whether you call the color wine, burgundy or ox blood, one thing is for sure, it is THE color for Fall 2012. As all the runways send down the latest of what’s to come for Spring 2013, we pull ourselves back into the present with this rich now color. It’s moody and dramatic, and we are simply loving it.

Kicking the trend off, we saw lots of vampy lips at the Met Gala this past May. One of our personal faves that night and pretty much always was Kate Bosworth, who was totally vamping it up as the guest of Prada. Click here for all the beauty details on her look.

The color isn’t just making it’s way into our beauty updates, it’s also seen throughout our Fall’12 collection. The Edition Jacket in Revlon is one of our designer picks for the season. The color and style will keep you warm inside & out.

Right now, the trend is literally coming to life in the streets of NYC for Fashion week! Just take this Street Snap Shot from Refinery29′s coverage for instance, if you don’t belief us.

As if all of this eye candy wasn’t enough, we went ahead and put together a little ensemble of some of our favorites. Just a little inspiration for the months ahead, we are feeling mysterious and moody just thinking about it.

Desk to Dinner Style

Hey there Working Girl, we know you get bored with the same old professionally appropriate wardrobe. Who doesn’t? The challenge is in combining your personal style with “functional” clothes. So with this challenge in mind, we have an outfit that proves that just because you need to be a little buttoned up sometimes, it certainly doesn’t mean you’re uptight. Oh no no no….definitely NOT uptight because you’re a savvy jet setter who’s confident in whatever she wears. Right? Right.

First off, start with the Boy Blazer. This updated classic is perfect year round for polishing up an outfit, and it looks great with pretty much everything you put it with from a baby doll dress to dressy shorts & a cami orrrrr what we paired it with here.

Alright, so we are absolutely LOVING the latest take on trousers with this super on-trend cropped version in Magenta. Pairing it with a fun printed top will keep it edgy without competing with the pop of color you’re getting from the “It” trousers, then the rest is all black and white accessories to complete the look. The white shoulder bag from Rebecca Minkoff and open toe booties help keep the look warm weather friendly, making it a great transitional outfit from summer to fall. Last but not least, adorable Chanel stud earrings make the cut every time and maybe a little of this on the lips once the sun goes down.

We’re thinking you’d look great sipping on one of these…enjoying the last days of summer while looking forward to cooler days.

Happy Birthday, Marilyn!

What is there to say about Marilyn Monroe that hasn’t already been said, right? The classic beauty is as popular today, which would have been her 86th birthday, as she was when she was alive.

We love how even though she was clearly glamorous, she was also the girl next door who was satisfied in a cute pair of capri pants and sweater while cozying up with a great book. It is definitely safe to say she would be as stunning now as she was then and we also think she would still be in her signature capris.

Here’s her timeless “I Wanna Be Loved By You,” from Some Like It Hot, we do…love you..Marilyn.

Nautical in The City

It’s that time of year. Yes, it is almost summertime and it’s the time when we all begin to itch for a little getaway from the daily grind. For us, our day dreams tend to drift to the beach and being on the water. It’s not quite a reality yet but why not dress the part? So. With this notion in mind, we put this little nautical look together so that even though we’re not On A Boat yet it’s only a matter of time.

Like? Want? When it comes to the Windy Day Jacket in Sunshine and Skipper Skirt then look no further than at Nordstrom. Beauty suggestions would be a fun coral on the lips AND nails, that’s right. Why not match two? Accessorize with the anytime of year, Balenciaga along with a great pair of wedges, then top it off with a classic oversized mens watch and viola…you are done!

Monthly Wish List – May

Monthly Favorites - May

We don’t know about you but 2012 is breezing on by! So, as we move on into May with Spring in full effect now, we are combining the season’s biggest trends: Pretty Pastels with Pops of Neon. LOVE. IT.

Start with Charmers in Mint.

Pair it with a cute Tee, like this one from All Saints.

Accessorize with our current obsession color, neon yellow…we like to call it “Highlighter,” Proenza Schouler Ps11 bag along with floral pattern heels and feather earrings for that edgy touch…then top it all off with Bobby Brown’s Neon & Nudes lip color.

Perfect.

Easy Breezy….Day 2 Coachella

After Day 1, rocking out to Black Keys, we thought we’d take it down a notch…well at least a little bit. We’re thinking for Day 2, it will be all about an easy breezy BoHo look. It’s going to be a big day in the sun, so we’ll definitely start with a hat. We’re loving this one from Madewell, you can protect your face then shield the eyes with these oversized Tom Ford sunnies. Now moving onto the outfit, nothing’s more feminine and sexy than a lace top, especially if you’re showing a little mid-drift off. We paired it with our high low hemline skirt the Leotie in Mint then tied it all together with a great pair of sandals like these Belle by Sigerson Morrison.

Add a lip gloss, then it’s off to see….
