As we may have mentioned once or twice or a hundred times before, we’re constantly inspired by music, travel and the inspiration that comes from everything along the way. So with that in mind and considering we’re actually in the South of France, it was only fitting to take in a visual of the home of the Rolling Stones during the time they recorded arguably one of their best albums…ever..Exile on Main St.
Villa Nellcote
The way the story goes is the band’s move south to this beautiful Mediterranean rambling mansion began in May of 1971, when Keith and his then stunning girlfriend, Anita Pallenberg (another eternal inspiration) rented Villa Nellcôte, near Nice.
By July, the rest of the band had taken up residence in the home, as well and assembled in the mansion’s basement to continue work on the album that would become Exile On Main St.
Since we mainly just got to stand outside the gates of this lovely abode
We thought we’d share some of our favorite shots from The Rolling Stones time there as they always set the mood, especially on a Friday.
Unquestionably the most fashionable night of the year, The Met Gala has been an annual affair at the Met since 1948 (the year in which the Costume Institute was founded) and has been held in different parts of the museum over the years. This year it was all about PUNK and the beautiful people came out in full force to celebrate the style of this movement.
Anna Wintour
There were many favs to choose from but here is our narrowed list.
Cara Delevigne in an absolute favorite on the runways right now and she was one of our ultimate favs last night. From her make-up to her hair to her to her stunningly studded Burberry gown. She totally killed it.
Rooney-Mara-In-Givenchy-Couture-2013-Met-Gala
There is already an edge to Rooney Mara’s look, which really draws you in when looking at her on the red carpet. In Givenchy last night, she managed to be both strong yet angelic at the same time. Almost anti-punk, until you get to her deep purple stained lip.
Another stunner was Anne Hathaway….with blond hair! There was certainly no love lost between her and Valentino. She worked her new Debbie Harry inspired locks in this vintage Valentino gown of beads, feathers, and strategic cut-outs.
Another lovely woman to done Valentino for the big night was Gwyneth Paltrow, who was VERY pretty in hot hot pink!
Taylor Swift was looking for some trouble in her spider web-esque and diamond encrusted J Mendel black gown.
Who says you can’t do Paris in a day? Or, is it Rome? Lucky for us, this isn’t the first time in Paris so it was more of a leisurely hang type of day. It was a day to acclimate and prepare for the South of France travels that lay ahead! Tomorrow we board a train to Nice, which we anticipate being a grand introduction to the South of France. EXCITED. Here is some snap shots from today in Paris and tomorrow, we’re thinking there shall be some wine, banquets and flowers in our future.
Started out the day with a cafe and a stroll through the Père Lachaise Cemetery to visit one of rock’s greatest, Jim Morrison.

Then, it was onto a snack at the steps of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. As you can see, it was a spectacular day to be walking around Paris.

Then, we made it down to the Seine to walk along the banks and take in the Love Lock Bridge. Romance is certainly NOT dead in Paris.

We had a bit of cloudy skies in the afternoon which only added to the beauty of the Eiffel Tower.
Eiffel Reflection
Concluded the evening with a little room service and this stunning sunset from our room. Oh…Paris, je t’aime!
Paris Sunset
We feel a soundtrack coming on from this trip…we’re already listening to a lot of Wild Belle but it was on repeat in the headphones today…so cool and moody..just like Paris.
With our Southwest festival days behind us, we are now setting our sights over seas for the next adventure. Where you ask? Ohhh…the South of France! Oui! It’s time to live out the inspirations of Sanctuary in April and needless to say, we are very excited.
and of course: jewelry, sunscreen, bronzer, hats, sundresses, bikinis, and a light jacket for breezy nights.
Here’s a quick look what’s getting packed, right now along with a little foreshadowing of what’s to come…bicycle riding with the sun in the sky and wind in our hair…
Sanctuary in St. Tropez
We’ll be working our way down the coast through the vineyards, gentle valleys, fields of lavender and olive groves as we leisurely approach St. Tropez for some sun and beach days.
Coachella Weekend 1 & 2…both equally transcending, the memories of the festival will not be soon forgotten! As we leave the desert, we’re already transfixed on the next adventure. This time it’s off to the South of France to stroll along the Seine in search of sun and flowers for our hair. Stay tuned for updates on St. Tropez dreams in our very near future, but right now we’re in the present and it’s time to give presents to the winners of Coachella Weekend 2 #sanctuaryINcoachella contest!!
Coachella. You amazingly fun thing you…it’s been real this year. Although, we knew the day would come that Coachella 2013 would come to an end, we are happy as we dance to the very end. For Weekend 2 / Day 3, it’s all about the airy clouds above our heads and sun shining down while we listen to the Brit babe, James Blake.
Sanctuary Coachella Weekend 2 Day 3
The Perfect Fit shorts in Cloud Air are our go to shorts for any occasion that calls for comfort while still keeping it cute…which is really any time, right? Here’s a sneak peek at James performance of his song Retrograde from last weekend’s set, which we had the pleasure of taking in and now we’re looking forward to round 2!
One of the artists we have really grown to love over the past few years is Grimes. Her ability to combine so many different elements into her music like industrial, electronic, and pop but still manages to be etherial and moody always inspires us. She is a definite must see at Coachella for Day 2 / Weekend 2. Her music will be inspiring the look that day, as well. We’ll be channeling the space invaders of sound…
We’re also really looking forward to Postal Service. They never cease to put us in a great moody mood. Here’s a great clip from their show last weekend at Coachella
Since Coachella expanded into 2 weekends, we figured our style guides should follow suit and have a second round as well….natch.
For weekend 1, we only caught the end of LA band, Local Natives, set so this coming weekend we’re determined to have the full experience with them. It’ll be Natives at Sunset and we’ll be drawing from the animal within…
SanctuaryInCoachella Weekend 2 – Animal Farm
Camo, tribal, & animal print…all together now..we’re going there. As mentioned yesterday, we absolutely loved Lee “Scratch” Perry’s set at Coachella on Day 1 last weekend, so we’re definitely going to check him again. Also on the list of MUST SEE: The Neighbourhood, Lord Huron, and Youth Lagoon.
And..FOALS, who have been coming in hot on the radar as of late. Loving this song and the video is pretty killer, too. Watch it. You’ll like it.
It’s Monday after the first weekend of Coachella 2013, and it’s official…we survived and we want MORE! The entire weekend was spectacular from beginning to end. Excited to share some of our favorite moments as well as happy to announce the winners from weekend 1′s #SanctuaryInCoachella contest!

And now…here’s is some of the best moments from Weekend 1 / Coachella 2013
Lee Scratch Perry was by far one of our favorites from Friday! He completely blew our minds when he rocked the Gobi stage.

Day 2, we did a little party hopping as well as festival’ing. First up, Nylon Magazine’s party at a “house”…yeah we’ll go with house…on a lake in Palm Desert..not too far from the festival.
Eve killed it in true private party style, and the crowd was effortlessly festival chic while drinking coconut water courtesy of Vita Coco.
Then, it was off to the fest! Some of our favorite performances on Day 2 were Hot Chip, who are always super fun. Also, the xx, definitely did NOT disappoint nor did our long time beloved…New Order.

Another fun point in the night was running into one of our favorite bloggers, The Man Reppler herself, Leandra Medine, who was sweet enough to snap a quick picture with us!

Then alas…Day 3 approached and although the end was impending, we enjoyed it to the last second! After leisurely sleeping in, we rallied ourselves to a couple pre-parties. First up was the Hard Rock Hotel Music Lounge, where we enjoyed Corzo Tequila snow cones and the Braid Bar.

Then checked out, Third Man Records party at The Ace Hotel…

before heading to the festival! Thoroughly enjoyed Wile Belle’s performance and also LOVED Tame Impala’s set. Check it out here -
There was a bit of a sand storm around this same time, so we took refuge in the Coachella Art Boutique. We fell in love with the prints by Ben Eines. Seriously…WANT.

White waiting for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, we just basked in the beauty that is Coachella by night.

Needless to say…they killed it.

That’s a wrap! Coachella 2013 Weekend 1 is a history.
For us, Coachella Day 2 is all about The xx & New Order..so naturally the outfit is going to be inspired by the music.
Hopi Pottery Charmers for the Geometric girl in all of us
Black, white, and some color blocking in for good measure is symbiotic with the emotive and dreamy style of both of bands. We’re ready to be transfixed by their music while gazing out into the open desert skies.
